THE REST OF FEB.

Well, it has been a while since I updated so here is what is what has been going on in Feb. Mrs. Tara came over with Abby to bring Casey clothes. Casey as usual wanted to love all over Abby who wasn’t real impressed.

Casey spent the night with Grammy & granddad then the next day went with daddy to grannies while mom went to a dance competition. Casey spent the night there too. Then we went to spend a few days with Chelsea & her family while I was in training. We went to a Chinese New Year party & Casey wore one of Claire’s pretty dresses from China. Here are Chelsea’s children & Casey & Isabell. Casey wasn’t real excited to stay with Chelsea while I went to training but she is OK. She even slept in a bed by herself for a nap, why can’t she do this at home? We went shopping too. Casey & Claire rode in the stroller & on a few other toys while I shopped. She liked sitting in the rocking chair & looking at books. She loved the trampoline & the higher you jumped with her the more she liked it. Then there was Valentines Day. She liked the big balloons she got & playing in the bubbles. Coco wasn’t used to all the excitement & got on the back of the sofa to get away from it.

I started looking around for Casey one day & this is where I found here. Hiding under the table & thinking it was quite funny!! Then I turned around & found Hoover & Coco taking a break from the dachshund races they have up & down the hall. Don’t they look cute together? They play so well & I am so glad!

Casey started saying a few new words like cat, fish & ice. She has said cat a few times but has only said ice & fish once.

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy valentines day!!

FRIDAY THE 13TH!

Superstisous anyone? it is Friday the 13th & there is a new Friday the 13th movie coming out. Lets all go find some black cats, walk under ladders & break a few mirrors!

WOO HOO!!!!!!! DANCE COMPETITION

I just got back from our dance competition. Our adult team does 3 dances but I only do 2 of them. WE GOT 1ST PLACE IN ALL 3!!!!! We never get 1st place!! It is even better because on one of the dances our music is usually spliced & today we had the whole song so we were dancing to music we normally dont dance to. Of course our other teams did good as they usually do but our adult team was excited!!

I found a few other pics of Casey to share with you. Here she is riding in her jeep she got for Christmas. She drives like her daddy, at least she wears a seatbelt like her mom!

This is her newest thing that she has learned. How to undress herself! She kept taking the shirt off & wearing it like a skirt.

While I was getting ready to go out, I hear Casey crunching on something. We have had this discussion several times but I guess she just doesnt care that she is not supposed to eat the dog food. she was munching on it just like it was potato chips or popcorn. Do you see how proudly she holds that bowl? Oh well, it has yogurt in it. It really does work well if your child needs to poop,as she had a messy diaper soon after her snack.

I guess it makes you tired too. Maybe I should have had some & I could have had a nap too. Dont they look comfy?

Coco is still fitting in well. As you can see they all have the sofa held down well so it wouldnt blow off.

After the nap I decided to let her have some paint. I think we have a budding artist here! She does very well with her hands & pretty good with a brush.

futurity

I had to dance at the futurity (yes it was raining) & Casey went with me. She danced in the road behind everyone else. When it was over we went inside & watched a few horses. Then back outside to sit on the bull, do a little riding & pet some animals.

OK, so maybe she didnt exactly ride a horse, but you get the pic.

SNOW IN THE SOUTH

That is something we dont see very often. Thankfully I had the day off work or I would have had to call in frozen!!! There wasnt enough for us to play in but I took Casey on the porch so she could touch it. I am surprised the schools werent closed & I am sure there was not a loaf of bread or a gallon of milk for miles!

Casey & I stayed in our pj's all day & kept a fire going while daddy worked. The dogs weren't real impressed with it either & stayed in with us most of the day. I guess this is all we will see until next year!

THE NEW ADDITION COCO

So I get this call one day from some friends who have been at the pound & the shelter (dont ask me why they were there b/c they have 7 dogs & 2 cats) saying that there was a dachshund at the animal shelter. I got on petfinder & looked at all the dogs. I found this dog, Coco, 4 yrs old, who was there b/c his human died & he & his sister were taken to the pound. (If anything ever happens to me someone please take my animals for me-dont let them go to the pound! I am sure they would fit right in at the Gour household) Well, Coco's sister was adopted quick & he was still there. I talked to Stacey about it & we agreed if he went on the urgent list we would go look at him. That time came. We found out that Molly's malitia was going to take him so he wouldnt be put down. I still went to see him & told Stacey that I wanted him. He told me that we weren't going to get him b/c Molly's was taking him. That is what I thought all day & he told me when I got home from work that he had paid for him!!!! What a sad story, your human dies, the family sends you to the pound, your sister leaves you & you are stuck at the pound. I was so happy to hear Stacey say we were getting a new addition. When I got him home, it naturally took a little for him to get comfortable here but he got along with Bo & Hoover. By the end of his 1st night here he was curled up in front of the wood burning stove where the fire was. He gave me lots of kisses & was good with Casey. his 1st treat here, hamburger helper. He was a little thin & you could see his ribs & backbone but I am sure that wont last long.

WHATS NEW WITH CASEY

Well, I realized i havent updated what Casey is doing now. She can stand & jump, she runs everywhere (she has been doing this for a while but she has gotten a lot faster!), she calls everyone mama, she says oof (dog), mama, uh-oh, ball, hot & un-uh (no), hi ya, tata (thank you) & bye. she is not a big talker but she has been on the move for over a year. I guess that is how she got so fast. She still signs more, please, & all done a lot. She points & grunts at everything. She can go up & down 2-3 stairs without holding onto anything. She is a daredevil! She is not afraid of anything. She understands what you are saying & sometimes she does what you ask her to. She knows how to do some clogging steps, heel, toe back (sometimes) & run, run, run. I am sure there is a lot more that she that is new but it seems so normal to me that I dont remember.

Goodbye 2008, Hello 2009

In saying goodbye to 2008, we spent the time with friends & coworkers (well, they are friends too!) There was food & fireworks, dogs & guns. A good time was had by all. Here is Robin & Christy.


This is Teddy, he is the fireworks dog. He LOVES fireworks & tries to bite them as they go off. Paul & Dennis have 7 dogs & 2 cats. Casey loves playing with the dogs there, however Teddy was more intrested in the fireworks.

We came home before midnight & thought Casey would fall asleep on the way home, but she didnt. So here we are with the 1st pics of 2009 right after the ball dropped!

Then on New Years Day we headed to granny's for lunch & uncle Bob & David were there. We ate some greens, peas & pork, however I dont look foward to much changing since I have eaten the same thing every new year for as long as I can remember. Maybe someone will hit the lottery & give me some!
